Why a Robot Portrait Artist Steals the Show at Corporate Events

Every corporate event has the same challenge: how do you get busy people to put their phones away, step out of their usual groups and actually enjoy themselves? Open bars help, and so does good music. But if you want people to gather, laugh and tell their coworkers about it on Monday, nothing beats a robot that draws portraits live.

Here is why Robo Picasso, our robot portrait artist (we call it the Draw Me Bot, and guests call it the sketch bot), works so well at company parties, client nights and trade shows across Florida.

People stop and watch

A robotic arm picking up a pen and drawing a real person is not something most guests have seen before. Within a few minutes of setting up, there is usually a small crowd standing around, watching a portrait appear line by line. That crowd is exactly what you want at a trade show booth, a lobby, or the edge of a party where people are still working up the courage to mingle.

It's fast enough for a big crowd

Waiting in a long line is the quickest way to ruin an attraction. Robo Picasso draws each portrait in under a minute, which comes out to roughly 50 to 60 guests an hour. In a two-hour event that can mean more than 100 guests walking away with a drawing. Guests pick a style, the robot draws and the next person steps up.

Every guest takes home something real

Digital photos are nice, but a physical keepsake sits on a desk for months. Each portrait is drawn in real ink on a 4x6 card, and guests also get a copy by text so they can share it right away. For a corporate event, that desk keepsake is a small reminder of your company every time someone looks at it.

Your brand goes on every drawing

We design the card background for your event: your logo, colors, a tagline, the event name and date. At a trade show, that turns every visitor into a person walking around with your name in their hand. At a team party, it can carry the theme, the company anniversary or a funny inside joke. You can read more about how this works for exhibitors in our guide to trade show booth attractions that draw a crowd.

Guests pick who they want to be

A classic portrait is always an option, but the fun part is the themes: cowboy, astronaut, superhero, cartoon, and more. When you ask guests to dress up as someone else for a minute, the shy people open up and the loud people get louder. It gets the whole room talking, and it's easy for groups, couples, families and even pets to join in.

It gives people something to talk about

Ask anyone who has planned a company party what they worry about, and it's usually silence: people standing in small circles checking their phones. A robot artist gives them an easy topic. "How did it draw you?" "Which theme did you pick?" "Is that supposed to be me?" Conversations start themselves, and people from different departments end up laughing in the same line.

Where it fits best

  • Holiday parties: a festive theme, a keepsake guests take home and a reason for the team to mingle.
  • Client appreciation events: personalized gifts that don't feel like another branded pen.
  • Trade shows and expos: a booth magnet that keeps people there long enough to have a conversation.
  • Grand openings and anniversaries: a crowd-pleasing show for the cameras.
  • Conferences and fundraisers: a break-time attraction that works in a lobby or at a cocktail hour.

What to plan before booking

Robo Picasso is easy to host. We bring the robot, set it up, run it with an attendant, and take it down. We just need a spot with a table, power and a little space for guests to stand and watch. A few things help us do our best work:

  1. Your date, venue and guest count, so we can plan for the right number of hours.
  2. Your logo and colors, if you want your branding on the cards.
  3. A theme or a few ideas, if you'd like custom characters for your event.
  4. Venue rules, such as load-in times or insurance requirements. Tell us early and we will work with your venue contact.

Pair it with a photo booth

If you want two attractions so guests have choices and the line stays short, we can do that. Robo Picasso pairs well with the Magic Mirror photo booth from The Enchanted Mirror Co. See the combo page for how it works.

We serve all of Florida

Robo Picasso is based in Tampa and travels throughout Florida, including Tampa, Orlando, Lakeland, Wesley Chapel and Winter Haven. Look at real drawings in the gallery or read the FAQ for answers to common questions.
